All active Full & Part-time Employees & Contractors are required to take this training annually. Employees will receive a certificate when the training has been completed.

Securing the Human, created by SANS Institute, is an approved cybersecurity training program focused on forming information security habits and procedures that protect information resources, and teach best practices for detecting, assessing, reporting, and addressing information security threats. Topics covered by this training course include: Social Engineering, Malware, Email & Phishing, Passwords, Targeted Attacks, Social Networks, Mobile Device Security, Browsing Safely, Data Security, Hacked, and Physical Security
Why Must I Complete This Training?
Texas House Bill 3834 which passed on June 14, 2019, requires local governments (including community colleges) to identify employees that have access to local government computer systems or databases and require those employees to complete a cybersecurity training program certified by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR).
