College Computer Assignment
SJC employees can request to have a College-owned computer provided by asking their leader to submit a request by clicking this button & completing the request form.
Our Asset Management & Procurement team will contact you to discuss recommendations and solutions.
Refer to the ITS Hardware Standards for more information on asset assignments.
Standard issued for staff are desktop computers while standard issued for faculty are laptops (with docking station). If you are requesting a laptop for a full time staff member, please include additional justification.
When requesting a computer for a new employee, it is recommended that you submit the request as soon as possible to ensure set up can be completed by or as near to the first date of work as possible.
Approval will be required for requests to purchase a new or additional computer for current employees or for purchasing lab/classroom computers. All computers are purchased by ITS; employees are not required to use budget or personal funds.
Submitting Your Request
Leaders: When submitting your request to Tech Support, please ensure that the following information is included:
Employee Name:
Email Address:
G#:
Position Title:
Department:
Room:
Is the position full time?
Is this a new position?
First date of scheduled work
Is a network connection available in a room?
Are dual (2) monitors required for this position?
If this is NOT a new position, include previous employee’s name and explain where is his/her computer
If laptop is requested for staff employee, include additional justification, as standard staff computer is a desktop
Checkout Laptops for Part-Time Faculty
Did You Know that part-time faculty are able to check out temporary laptops to assist with teaching their class? If you are in need of a laptop to connect to the A/V equipment in the classroom, you may check one out from Campus Services. The guidelines to check out a laptop are:
Laptops must be used for instructional, classroom purposes.
Laptops checked out from Campus Services must be returned to their office. These laptops cannot leave campus.
Due to limited availability, laptops are checked out on a first come-first served basis.
